UPDATE: "I was able to get so many visitors because I posted it on my facebook and so did some of my friends and family! I also told some of my parents friends about the site and the contest. Another technique I used was tagging all the clothes and where they were from in the picture. This way, when people want to search for, lets say a Forever 21 skirt, on the website,  my picture would pop up because I tagged a Forever 21 skirt in it :)"

5 Tips for Better Style Photos!

Tip #1 - Pose

Try sitting down and leaning to either side to add interest. Get the camera down to your eye level to prevent body distortion (instead of holding it above your head and pointing down) :)

Tip #2 - Angles

Try shooting the photo from a couple of different angles and see what version you like best.

Tip #3 - Keep It Simple

Keep the background simple. Avoid piles of dirty clothes, trash cans and a lot of clutter :) Try taking photos outdoors or against a solid color wall that compliments your outfit.                                                                                                                                                    

Tip #4 - Lots of Light

When shooting indoors, shoot in a bright, well lit room. Avoid low-light situations when possible.

Tip #5 - Primary Light

Try to keep the main source of light pointing towards you. Never shoot directly into bright light.

Bonus Tip

Bonus Tip - Use a photo editor like iPhoto or Pixlr to spice up your photos.
